Rockstar Writes Anthem for Patriots to Blare Over Independence Day Weekend

Share

Am I the only one?

That’s a question many of us seem to be asking ourselves these days, as a great number of Americans continue to malign their own country.

Flags burning, cities destroyed.

It’s unclear if America will ever return to a place of patriotism and gratitude for all of the unique freedoms afforded to those fortunate enough to live within this country’s borders.

On Thursday, one rock star sent out a much-needed message to the true patriots of this country: you’re not alone in loving America.

Conservative commentator and attorney Rogan O’Handley — also known as “DC Draino” — shared the song on his Instagram account Friday, along with a message directly from the lead singer himself, Aaron Lewis. The former lead singer of the rock band Staind, Lewis has carved out a successful solo career in country music.

“We believe in this country. Please send this to every conservative mouth piece you can. Everyone you know,” Lewis wrote.

“Friday is the day. Let’s give all us proud Americans a song to blare over the weekend.”

Lewis’ song is indeed a powerful examination of the current political climate.

The lyrics tackle flag burnings, the tearing down of statues, and the prevalence of anti-American demonstrations that we have seen over the course of the past year and change.

“Am I the only one willing to bleed or take a bullet for being free, screaming what the f**k at my TV, for telling me,” the song goes.

“That I’m the only one, willing to fight for my love of the red and white.”

“And the blue, burning on the ground. Another statue coming down in a town near you. Watching the threads of old glory come undone,” it says.
