Pelosi: Working with China on Climate Change Is More Important Than Stopping Genocide
According to U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, working with the Chinese government to combat the effects of climate change is more important than stopping the communist regime’s systematic genocide of China’s Uyghur population.
The Democratic leader said as much on Thursday during a moderated conversation at the Cambridge Union Society at Cambridge University in England.

“With their military aggression in the South China Sea, with their continuation of genocide with the Uyghurs in the Xinjiang province there, with their violation of the cultural … religious priority of Tibet, with their suppression of democracy in Hong Kong and other parts of China as well, they’re just getting worse in terms of suppression,” Pelosi said.
Pelosi went on to infer that all of these crimes on humanity pale in comparison to the impending threat of climate change.
“Having said all of that … we have to work together on climate,” she continued.
“Climate is an overriding issue and China is a leading emitter in the world — U.S. too, developed world too — but we must work together. So we have to have a level of communication — whether it’s COVID, whether it’s terrorism or whether it’s climate.”

According to a comprehensive report from The Western Journal, the Chinese government’s genocide of the Uyghur Muslim population is extensive.
An ethnic minority native to the Xinjiang region of China, the Uyghurs have been forcibly placed in labor camps, re-education camps and other detention facilities. Multiple reports of systematic rape, perpetrated against female Uyghur prisoners, have come out of these facilities.

In addition, there are reports of forced sterilization being utilized to prevent further population growth.
Mysterious, drastic population declines among the Uyghur population have led some to believe that China may even be mass-murdering the group.
And yet, Nancy Pelosi believes climate change is a greater threat than any of these crimes.
