Trump Posts Epic Welcome to Biden for Joining Truth Social: 'Congratulations, Joe'

Share

President Joe Biden’s 2024 re-election campaign was trolled by former President Donald Trump over the weekend after it created a Truth Social account.

Biden’s campaign said in an Oct. 16 post on X that it joined Trump’s platform “mostly because we thought it would be very funny.”

“Follow us there for truths and retruths or whatever they call them,” the campaign said.

The Biden campaign took the handle @BidenHQ and immediately followed Trump, Business Insider reported.

The move didn’t stop the former president and leading GOP contender in 2024 from calling Biden out on his record, especially relative to ongoing world events.

“We are heading to World War III because of grossly incompetent leadership, headed by a President that doesn’t have a clue, although he did have the sense to just join TRUTH, the real VOICE OF AMERICA,” Trump wrote Saturday.

“Congratulations Joe, at least, on that!” he added.

Fox News spoke with the president’s campaign last week ahead of its launch on Truth Social.

A Biden representative told the network it was simply “meeting voters where they are.”

But @BidenHQ quickly began sniping at Trump and other Republicans on the platform:

“Republicans can’t even agree on a Speaker of the House, so clearly, not every Republican thinks the same,” the Biden campaign told Fox News.

Campaign officials said they planned to use the account to counter “mis and disinformation” about the president and to hold “MAGA accountable on their own platform.”

“We will be leveraging the fact that Republicans can sometimes be our best messengers!” they said. “[We are] going into the lion’s den to point out Republicans’ hypocrisy and have a little fun at their own expense.”

“There’s very little ‘truth’ happening on TruthSocial, but at least now it’ll be a little fun,” a senior Biden campaign aide told Fox News on Monday.

A Truth Social representative said the platform “welcomes anyone around the world.”

The @BidenHQ account had about 37,800 followers as of Monday, compared with 6.46 million for Trump.
