Georgia State Legislators Call on Pence To Delay Certification Until Audit Conducted
A group of Georgia state senators are reportedly calling on Vice President Mike Pence to delay the official counting of the Electoral College votes so allegation of irregularities can be investigated.
The count is slated to take place in a joint session of Congress on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Eastern.
“There’s about 16 or 18 of us now that signed this letter to the Vice President … asking him to delay the electoral vote for 10 to 12 days,” Sen. Brandon Beach told The Epoch Times in an article published Monday.
He added that other senators might sign on.
Beach was among those participating in a Georgia Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Elections hearing last week when lawmakers voted unanimously to audit Fulton County’s absentee ballots to check for abnormalities.
The vote came after digital scanning technology expert Jovan Pulitzer testified that his forensics team would be able to tell if ballots were fraudulent, using technology similar to that which is used by vending machines to identify counterfeit currency.
“We would be able to tell if [the ballots] were folded, if they were counterfeit, whether they were filled out by human hand, whether they were printed by a machine, whether they were batch fed continually over and over. We can detect every bit of that,” Pulitzer said in the subcommittee meeting.
Tea Party Patriots co-founder Jenny Beth Martin, who is a member of the Trump campaign legal team in Georgia, tweeted in November, “9 observers in GA have signed affidavits swearing they saw suspicious mail-in ballots cast for Biden that were in pristine condition and had no creases on them.

While speaking before the Georgia elections subcommittee on Wednesday, Trump campaign attorney Rudy Giuliani also pointed to the potential fraud seen in a leaked video of ballot processing at the State Farm Arena in Fulton County (Atlanta metro area) — in which observers were allegedly told counting was completed for the night.
But counting allegedly resumed soon thereafter in the early morning hours following Election Day.
Beach said near the conclusion of last week’s hearing, after listening to multiple witnesses and experts testify, that he believes fraud has occurred.

“I am more and more convinced now this was a well-orchestrated, well-coordinated effort by several groups to commit widespread and systemic fraud,” he said.
Beach pointed to the allegedly over 37,000 ballots that were counted without Republican Party observers at the State Farm Arena and chain of custody issues for ballots in neighboring Cobb County as among his sources of concern.
On Saturday, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and 10 of his Republican colleagues issued a joined statement also calling on Pence to delay the vote.
“On January 6, it is incumbent on Congress to vote on whether to certify the 2020 election results. That vote is the lone constitutional power remaining to consider and force resolution of the multiple allegations of serious voter fraud,” the statement reads, in part.

“The most direct precedent on this question arose in 1877, following serious allegations of fraud and illegal conduct in the Hayes-Tilden presidential race. Specifically, the elections in three states-Florida, Louisiana, and South Carolina-were alleged to have been conducted illegally,” the senators said.
In light of these allegations, an Electoral Commission was set up consisting of five Senators, five House Members and five Supreme Court justices.
“We should follow that precedent. To wit, Congress should immediately appoint an Electoral Commission, with full investigatory and fact-finding authority, to conduct an emergency 10-day audit of the election returns in the disputed states,” the senators said. “Once completed, individual states would evaluate the Commission’s findings and could convene a special legislative session to certify a change in their vote, if needed.”

“Accordingly, we intend to vote on January 6 to reject the electors from disputed states as not ‘regularly given’ and ‘lawfully certified’ (the statutory requisite), unless and until that emergency 10-day audit is completed.”
The lawmakers argued such a move would enhance people’s trust in the election results.
“A fair and credible audit-conducted expeditiously and completed well before January 20-would dramatically improve Americans’ faith in our electoral process and would significantly enhance the legitimacy of whoever becomes our next President. We owe that to the People,” they said.
Republican electors met last month in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, New Mexico and Michigan and voted for Trump and Pence, with an eye toward an Electoral College challenge, as the president’s legal efforts went forward.
At a campaign rally in Georgia for Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue on Monday, Pence said he “shares the concerns of millions of Americans about the voting irregularities.”
“I promise you, come this Wednesday, we will have our day in Congress,” he said. “We’ll hear the objections. We’ll hear the evidence.”
The Western Journal reported that in addition to Georgia, letters are being circulated among state legislators in Arizona, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin asking Pence to pause the process of counting electoral votes pending further investigation and litigation into voting irregularities.
