Chinese Media Pounces on GOP, Calls Them 'Street Gang' for RNC Guest Speech
Take all the politics out of it, and Chen Guangcheng’s address on the third night of the Republican National Convention was a powerful speech about an immigrant fulfilling the American dream.
Put all the politics in, and you’re reminded of why America is the best country in the world and why our enemies hate us so much.
Chen, a blind Chinese immigrant who fled the oppressive regime in 2012, and the United States were both blasted by Chinese state media for having the audacity to support human rights.
Chen became known in China as he advocated against the communist government’s savage “one-child” policy.
“Standing up to tyranny is not easy, I know. When I spoke out against China’s ‘one-child’ policy and other injustices, I was persecuted, beaten, sent to prison and put under house arrest by the Chinese Communist Party, the CCP,” he said in Wednesday’s speech.
The Chinese immigrant went on to praise President Donald Trump for standing up to China.
“The U.S. must use its values of freedom, democracy and the rule of law to gather a coalition of other democracies to stop CCP’s aggression,” he said.
“President Trump had led on this and we need the other countries to join him in this fight, a fight for our future. Standing up to fight unfairness isn’t easy, I know, so does President Trump, but he has shown the courage to lead that fight. We need to support, vote and fight for President Trump for the sake of the world.”

Because Chen had the audacity to a) speak at the RNC and b) praise Trump, the Global Times (a mouthpiece for the CCP that is labeled as a “questionable source” in part because of its “Chinese Propaganda”) went out of its way to smear everyone involved in the speech.
“Why did the Republican Party invite Chen? Will Chen’s groundless smear have any substantial effect on Trump’s campaign?” the Global Times article asks.
Citing a pair of “experts” from Fudan University (who surely didn’t have to offer these remarks under threat of punishment) the article does everything it can to denigrate Chen, the GOP and Trump.
“By inviting Chen to the convention, the Republican Party aims at smearing China and playing the ideological card. The party could not find any more decent people to give a speech, nor could it find any new topic. Chen has been wandering in the US for almost 10 years since he arrived in the country in 2012. He has no other value for the Republican Party except to blacken China,” professor Shen Yi said.
“The convention demonstrates that under the strong influence of the Trump administration, the whole Republican Party is turning from a party of elites into a street gang. The convention looks like a large party of third-tier talk show actors,” Shen added.
“In terms of the tactic on the general election, China seems to be the only card that Trump can play,” wrote Xin Qiang, deputy director at Fudan’s Center for U.S. Studies.
The childish name-calling from the CCP and its media mouthpiece should tell people everything they need to know about why it’s so important to re-elect Trump.
America doesn’t need its leaders getting cozy with these types of petulant tyrants.
If anything, this type of vitriol is exactly what Americans should expect to see from a communist regime. Thankfully, President Trump is just about the furthest thing from a communist.
